APC: Atiku, you are welcome on board
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yola on Monday formally
received former Vice President Atiku Abubakar into its fold.
Atiku reiterated that he joined APC with other politicians to
bring the change Nigerians were yearning for.
“If you see me, Baba Mai Mangoro (Nyako) and other stakeholders
you know change is coming to Nigeria,’’ Atiku said in Hausa.
The former vice president, who did not talk of his political
ambition, simply said people would hear from him whenever campaign commenced.
The APC Interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande and it
National Leader, Sen. Bola Tinubu, lauded the people of Adamawa for their
active support for the party.
They urged for mass participation in the forthcoming party
membership registration exercise.
“Everybody must be registered. If you have problem during the exercise contact
your supervisor,’’ Akande said.
Gov. Murtala Nyako, retired Brig.-Gen Buba Marwa, and Malam Nuhu
Ribadu, who spoke at the ceremony, reiterated their commitment to continue to
unite as stakeholders in the state in the interest of the party.
A former governor of Bayelsa, Mr Timiprye Silva, said the people
of South-South, were disappointed with the performance of PDP-led government
and would join hand with APC for a change.
In his remarks, the Adamawa Interim Chairman of APC, Mr Kobis
Thimnu, thanked all those who play vital role in uniting supporters of the
party in the state.
“I call on all our members and supporters to continue to unite
and join hands as we pray to God to reward our effort with success,’’ Thimnu
said.
The party’s Deputy National Chairman North, Alhaji Bello Masari,
Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, Chief Audu Ogbe, Danjuma Goje, among others attended the
