Pepsi Inspires Football Lovers at Lagos Countdown
Pepsi, official beverage sponsor of the Lagos Countdown festival
thrilled fun seekers at the Bar Beach stretch of Victoria Island with a mix of
football, refreshment and entertainment.
The Pepsi football turf galvanized the interest of football lovers
who registered their teams for a 3-aside football competition. A total of 32
teams registered for the competition and matches were played from group stages
to finals.
The big match of the competition was the final match between
B-Siders FC and Dream Boiz FC. Both teams exhibited skills and energy by wining
all their matches from group stage to the semi-finals. It was to be a clash of
the titans but B-Siders FC eased past Dream Boiz FC by eight goals to two.
Presenting a cash prize of N100,000 to B-Siders FC, winner of the
competition, Marketing Manager, Key Account, Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc., Mrs.
Patricia Odia-Iletogun, said “Pepsi has over the years tilted its passion in
providing various platforms including music, entertainment and sports to
discover talents and excite consumers.”
“Our aim of hosting this competition on the occasion of Lagos countdown
is to reward both fun lovers and football lovers with cash and gift items in
their quest for fun”, she said.
Dream Boiz FC and Woldstar FC got cash prizes of N70,000 and
N50,000 respectively for emerging in the second and third positions of the
competition. Other teams in the quarter-finals received consolation prizes of
N20,000 each.
Aside the football competition, music, refreshment and
entertainment, the Pepsi Messi Ville was a strategic attraction as fun lovers
had the opportunity to take photographs with different images of Messi cut-out.
Pepsi Messi Ville and football turf provided a strong platform for
footballers to win prizes, family bonding, interaction, fun, celebration of
music and culture as well great entertainment for Lagosians and tourists.
