Squadron Viewing Centres Elate Super Eagles Home Fans
The African Cup of Nations Viewing Centres,
initiated by Squadron Dark Rum, were all enlivened with enthusiasm on
Wednesday night when the Super Eagles played their last group stage
match against Ethiopia. The various atmospheres were further lightened
up with excitement, when the Nigerian team pulled off a late win that
created a massive euphoria.
With screams of “goal” on top gear
taking over the waves at the Prince of Anthony, one of the main hubs of
all the centres, the fans started celebrating before the end of the
match, as they demanded with glasses held high, for sampling refills of
Squadron Dark Rum, after two goals netted by Victor Moses.
Nollywood
superstar, Ricardo Agbor, was at the Prince of Anthony Sports Bar,
where he freely, shared football tactics and strategy with other soccer
fans that crowded the spacious and exotic sports bar. In his analysis of
the match, at half-time, he implored Nigerians to be patient with the
Super Eagles and even went ahead to predict, accurately, the final
score, before any goal was scored.
“As a patriotic Nigerian, I
think, for the very first time, we have a better team, we have more
shots at goal and I predict the match will end in two goals in favour of
the Super Eagles”, he posited. He expressed gratitude to Squadron Dark
Rum for the initiative to televise the matches, which are not being
aired on local TV stations.
The Brand Manager, Squadron Dark
Rum, Zekeri Dokpesi, promised to continue tantalising the Nigerian
soccer fans with total entertainment, “with the selection of premium and
conducive viewing centres, spread all over Lagos state, the non-stop
free sampling of Squadron Dark Rum, prize winners in different centres,
invitation of superstars in football and entertainment in general, the
Squadron brand is still not resting on its oars, as we intend to
continue to preach unity and peace, in Nigeria with the game of soccer”.
Squadron
Dark Rum, a major brand in the Nigerian wine and spirit industry, from
the stable of Intercontinental Distillers Limited, has been one of the
leaders in the sector and has, in recent times, engaged in the
sponsorship of entertainment events, to shore up its brand equity.
