At the launch of the campaign in November 2012, the Managing Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Mr. Seni Adetu expressed his delight on the brand’s association with the Super Eagles over the years and excited that Guinness is at the centre of galvanising support from millions of Nigerian fans.
Truly the Guinness Fly with the Eagles rekindled the love and passion Nigerians have always had for the apex team. The thrust of the campaign as disclosed by Adetu is to show that “the team is not just made up of the eleven players on the pitch but also includes the over 160 million people cheering the team on in the AFCON and other competitions.
The campaign has indeed made meaningful impact both on individuals and the national team as they have really enjoyed the support of Nigerians, which saw them sink the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire, the tournament’s favourites to proceed to the Semi-finals that may likely see the Super Eagles getting to their first final since 2000.
