Can Barcelona Undo This Loss?
Bayern's Thomas Mueller (L) reacts after scoring the
Fourth goal during the
UEFA CL first leg semi-final
football match between
Bayern Munich and Barcelona
at the Allianz arena in Munich.

It was not indeed a surprise
at the Allianz Arena – Munchen where the Catalans were outclassed by their
host, the Bavarians in the first leg of the Champions’ League semifinal. The host
consolidated on their goal harvest last week against Hannover by unleashing more
goals to make history as the biggest win in a Champions’ League semifinals
game.
Being a clash of the titans,
Bayarn Munich had been tipped as favourite in the encounter from the very
minute the draws were announced. Over 75% of football analysts and spectators
have afore hand predicted a semifinal of Barcelona FC and FC Bayarn Munich with
the later tipped for the finals.
Lately, Bayarn has scored 20
goals in four games and kept 30 clean sheets this season to keep them at the brink of a treble. Their relentlessly
brilliant season has seen them vanguish Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal and progress
to the final. In Bundesliga, they are 20 points clear from the closest opponent
and now they are at the verge of a fourth CL final.
The German side has justified
the confidence reposed on them by out rightly over powering the Spanish giants.
The stunning victory on Tuesday night came on the day the club captured
headlines signing of Bundesliga archrival (Borussia Dortmund), Mario Gotze for
a reported fee of 37 million euros in preparations for the 2013/2014 season.
In recent weeks, football has
been a drama with clubs grabbing unbelievable victories across leagues. In the
first leg of the quarter finals, Barcelona fell victim to AC Milan in a 2 goals
defeat in Italy. But they braced up with an astonishing surprise in the second
leg at Camp Nou by humbling AC Milan with 4 goals to have an aggregate of 4 –
2, which saw them into the semifinals.
Football has gone past mere
conclusion when it’s not yet over. In
the second round of CL, at the Allianz Arena – Munchen, BayarnMunich won
Aesenal with 3 goals and in the return leg at Emirate, Arsenal pulled a
surprised one by cancelling the 3 goals conceded only for Bayarn to earn a goal
that night to make it 4 – 3 aggregate. Lucky Bayarn you may say.
Also Borussia Dortmund broke
the jinx of having three Spanish teams in the semifinals when they dramatically
had a comeback to lead Malaga in the second leg of the quarter final match.
Only last week in EPL,
Tottenham Hotspur gave an energetic Manchester City side a shocker of the
season by scoring three goals in seven minutes to keep their hopes alive for a
champions league spot.
Tuesday night has been
recorded as the worst defeat for the Spanish giants since the 1997 group stage 4-0 loss to Dynamo Kiev. This lost is leaving
the second leg at Camp Nou to be as less formal as possible except otherwise.
Can the Catalan Giants repeat the
same fate they meted on AC Milan? Will Barcelona's superstar Lionel Messi and his
team mates be able to undo the history Bayarn has created at this stage of the competition
come second leg at camp Nou?
Never over until it is truly
over. Let’s go there.
This is football, where anything can happen. I choose to keep my cool until the very last minute on the return leg.
ReplyDeletethat's very on point bro. predictions hardly work out perfectly now in the soccer world. may the best team win always.
