THE LOATHSOME BRAND

When a brand becomes despicable, it implies the brand has lost every         
iota  of  positive public perception. Everything about such a brand is on
the negative side and it therefore implies that the brand can do no good
to the populace. Such a brand is a show of dishonour that no one would
even wish his enemy to have partnership with the brand. 

The public abhors this brand because it can no longer perform its 

primary duties of arresting offenders, carrying out intensive investigation

to unravel any commission of offence, preventing crimes from being 

committed, enforcing law and order, ensuring those arrested are duly 

prosecuted and punished if found guilty, protection of its citizens against 

robbery, violence, arson, murder, rape among other forms of criminal acts.

It is a fact that the men if this brand participates aid and abet a couple of these vises in our society today. On daily basis hideous crimes are committed in our environment and offenders walking free on our streets. Nigerians are so unsatisfied with the services rendered by this brand. The lost of lives and property have been on the high side, the perpetrators get away without efforts to stop them.

There is hardly a family in Nigerian that has not fallen victim to this brand. Rapes, cold blood murder, kidnapping, car snatching and looting of homes all these are done effortlessly by the perpetrators.

In this entire nefarious act which is now part of us, the brand seems helpless. The regular comment after a crime scene is ‘investigations are on top gear and we shall get to the root of this and the perpetrators will be brought to book’. Our people are now very used to this because in the long run, no result is ever gotten.

Insecurity reigns and citizens no longer have an inch of confidence on the brand. The image of the brand is nothing to write home about. They are only good in bartering and extorting innocent citizens. An informant is regarded as the chief suspect that is why useful information that could lead to arrest is kept mute.

Not many innocent victims are alive to tell their stories with men. In fact, there is hardly any month that alleged atrocious conducts are not reported about men of this brand. If it is not extra-judicial killing of suspects in custody, it is shooting of innocent citizens and drivers who refuse to pay toll fees at illegally mounted checkpoints. 

Worst of all now is that victims of these nefarious crimes hardly report to the brand simply because it will amount to a futile effort without result. One even has to spend to get the team do their job. Their action becomes even worst than the ill-fated incidence that has befallen one. Woe unto this brand that the people have lost confidence up on.
