British Heritage Resonates at Guinness Nigeria

Guinness Nigeria Plc flaunted its rich British heritage recently when it played host to the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Peter Carter at its brewery in Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos State.

While receiving the August visitor, Mr. Babatunde Savage, Chairman, Guinness Nigeria Plc, highlighted that “Guinness is the biggest UK-parented Nigerian Company quoted on the Stock Exchange, in terms of capitalisation, turnover and profits and we are indeed very proud of our British heritage.”

While commending the Deputy High Commissioner for making out time to visit the plant upon his resumption as the Deputy British High Commissioner based in Lagos, the Chairman expressed gratitude to the British High Commission for its support to the company over the years.

He explained that the visit is critical to fostering stronger cordial ties between the two institutions and its various stakeholders both in Nigeria and abroad. The visit afforded the visiting commissioner an opportunity to tour the brewing giant’s Ogba facility while both parties also took the opportunity to discuss boosting British investments in Nigeria and strengthening existing British Investments in the country.

Mr. Seni Adetu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Guinness Nigeria Plc,  took the British Deputy High Commissioner through the background and portfolio of Guinness Nigeria during the visit and made it clear that “Guinness Nigeria is a caring organisation. “We pride ourselves in adding value in every environment within which we operate. This we do through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities across various communities in the country,” he stated.

The British Deputy High Commissioner commended Guinness Nigeria for sustaining the legacy of the parent company, Diageo by providing consumers in Nigeria with the quality and premium brands the company is known for worldwide.
