NIGERIANS TO EXPERIENCE NEW NOKIA LUMIA 530

Microsoft’s first attempt at a budget smartphone post-acquisition of Nokia’s cellphone division has again birthed the new Nokia Lumia 530 dual-SIM, a Windows-based smartphone with a bigger screen size than Lumia 520 and a scale below Lumia 630. The Lumia 530 dual-SIM has a 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen with FWVGA (864 x 480) screen resolution. The device also features a scratch-resistant glass. The smartphone measures 119.7 x 62.3 x 11.7 mm and weighs about 129 grams. The Windows based smartphone is available in four different colour variants; Black, White, Red and Yellow.

The Lumia 530 dual-SIM runs on Microsoft Windows 8.1 operating system. The device is powered by 1.2 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with Adreno 302 GPU. In terms of memory, the Nokia Lumia 530 dual-SIM hosts a 512 MB RAM with an internal storage capacity of 4 GB which can be further expanded up to 64 GB using a microSD card. The device has a 5 MP primary rear camera with fixed-focus with which one can capture amazing images and 720p videos.

Multimedia options that come along with the Windows based smartphone are MP3, MP4, WMV, WAV, WMA etc. However, the device also has an FM Radio. The smartphone also comes pre-loaded with regular applications like image viewer & editor, document viewer, Predictive text input, Maps, etc. The Lumia 530 dual-SIM also stores additional features like the screen rotation lock.

The device is powered by a Li-Ion 1430 mAh battery which supports a talk time of about 13.4h and music playback up to 51h. In terms of connectivity, one can always afford to stay connected as the device includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0 port.

The build of the phone is really nice. Nokia makes phones out of plastic (or polycarbonate) which feel really good in hand. You will love holding this phone in your hand. It is lightweight(129g).

In terms of software, I would really appreciate the changes made in the new Windows 8.1 or the enhancements introduced. The new action center, customizable tiles, better performance and optimization, word flow-the great swype keyboard and other features force you to buy this little piece. If you are bored of Android and want to explore Microsoft's innovations in an affordable price range, you must go for it.

This phone comes with only 512 MB RAM which is I guess sufficient to run most of the apps well. Due to the optimizations made in the new Windows 8.1, apps run smoothly with only 512 MB RAM. It has 4GB of internal storage and it is expandable. So you will love it. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Quad core processor. It is though relatively old processor but still performs smoothly as it is a quad core. Overall performance for daily task, light games, and other apps is quite good and appreciable.

You also get 15GB of skydrive storage and such other features for Microsoft. It is a branded phone. Nokia makes it phones really great. If you love Windows platform or want to try something new and unique, then this is a phone to opt for
